Nowadays, they are putting RFID chips in more and more things, such as drivers licenses, credit cards, and passports, just to name a few. Well, this is not a good idea, as you can see in the above video.
He can just drive down the street and pick up ID's. The equipment he's using in the video only does passports, but, he clearly explains he could also do drivers licenses and credit cards at the same time. This means he would have your whole ID!
Thanks to the US Gov't at all levels, and to greedy big businesses, such as banks and credit card companies for this. The Gov't and those same businesses, don't care if your ID gets stolen! The Gov't just wants simplicity for themselves and the businesses want to make more profits. If you 'tap' your card, instead of sliding it and entering a PIN number, you spend more money! This is a FACT and they have the research to prove it!
They don't care if your ID is stolen. They lose a few thousand dollars and at most a few hours of some low level employees time, meanwhile, millions of people are walking around spending lots more money. They come out way ahead and the burden of proof is on you. After hundreds or even thousands of hours of effort and stress, you may eventually prove your case and get spurious charges removed and your credit rating straightened out, but they are making money the whole time! Why should they care?
Whenever possible refuse the cards with the RFID chips in them.
This is the only way you have to show your concern, and you should be concerned.
