TESLA

TESLA's!
We've got quite a few in the bay area here.
Well, they are invented and made here, after all.
This is just one I saw on my way to work one morning,
I saw, (and got some shots of,) the salesroom over there in Menlo Park / East Palo Alto area when I was doing that MRI Research. (I was just a lab rat for science.)

Anyway, know much about the real Nikola Tesla?
No?
Check out whatever's available in movie form.
There are some pretty good ones, including a documentary with the man himself in it.
He was building 'free' power for everyone until George Westinghouse cut off his funds.
He worked for Edison, but couldn't stay because his power system was better and Edison wanted to stop him from implementing it.

Since Edison's own power system was direct current, which required booster stations every couple miles, Tesla's alternating current system was better.

This resulted in a bitter war, (on Edison's side, mostly,) between the two men.

In fact, Edison invented 'electrocution' to show how dangerous alternating current was.

All in all, it's an amazing story.
Watch several of the movies, (not necessarily all at once, you understand?)
