Haven't people figured out yet that it doesn't work?
Human beings are NOT capable of multi-tasking!
Those who think they are capable of multi-tasking are actually lying to themselves and worse yet, believing those lies!
Earlier this year Stoney Brook University studied texting and stuff, (article here, and a great video here,) and found that people who text while walking veer away from a straight path by a 60% deviation! The amount of distance they traveled increased by 13% and it took them 33% longer to get to their destination.
Hell, even just walking and talking took 16% longer!
Wake up, people.
If you have to text while walking you'd better have an Android phone with, 'Transparent Screen,' on it, by Sascha Affolter. It uses your camera to show what's directly in front of you and works while texting or using other applications like Google Maps.
I haven't tried it yet, but, I'll certainly give it a shot, although I don't usually text all that much. Certainly not while doing other things.
I try to not be a total fool.
Here are some more good videos of texting while walking.
