Pumping Iron to Prevent Dementia

I read this cool article about how you can prevent dementia by exercising! (Article here.)
I thought that was awesome, so I commented... a couple times, of course. One comment was ...

I'll go with that, "...so even if we turn out to be wrong ... it is still good medical advice..." statement.
Anybody out there stupid enough they can't figure this out for themselves?
You know, like, without a doctor?

Then, of course, it reminded me of a special set of exercises for us 'older-folks.'

EXERCISE FOR PEOPLE OVER 50.
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface where you have plenty of room on each side.
With a five-pound potato sack in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides, and hold them there as long as you can.
Try to reach a full minute and then relax. Each day you'll find you can hold this position a little longer.
After a couple of weeks, move up to the 10-pound potato sacks. Then try 50-pound potato sacks and then eventually try to get where you can lift a 100-pound potato sack in each hand and hold your arms straight out for a full minute. (I'm at this level.)
After you feel confident at this level, put a potato in each sack.
