Just read this cool article, (here,) about this guy who played hero, stopped the bank robber, got shot, got others shot, and wants the bank to pay his medical bills, and the comments afterwards, where everybody has an opinion, often quite crazy, (mine included, ha ha.)
He's got $75,000 in medical bills.
He got shot by the bank robber... when he attacked the bank robber with the gun!
He took a bullet to the leg, and another customer got shot, too, (so did the robber, ha ha!)
He wanted the bank to pay the $75,000 in medical bills.
They apparently offered him lunch, flowers and $10,000.
There's a real firestorm over who is actually at liability.
People had all kinds of opinions.
Here's mine:
I think he was stupid to play hero.
If someone has a gun you just say ‘Yes sir.’
But then again, he also was apparently threatened, and more than once.
You’re already in justifiable fear of your life.
I’m not sure if the bank should accept liability, but they could have played it for all it’s worth right from the start without accepting responsibility.
They should have happily ‘volunteered’ to pay his medical bills and played up their charitibility.
What a PR coup.
