It was great... except for the fact that it was closed. The parking lot, the campsite, etc... from the 10th to the 13th.
I found this cool illegal place to camp, (I guess it was illegal. It was just some open area down this really cool dirt road.)
I tried filming the sky for a few hours, caught a nap, and then drove towards Yosemite.
Yosemite Falls was dry, and I do mean dry, although plenty of the other falls there were flowing. It only flows from snow melt, not springs.
I was going to try for the Upper Falls Trail, however, it was way too hot for that. It was so hot that I just found a place in the shade, had a drink, and then read a book all afternoon.
When I got home yesterday it was over 100 here in the Bay Area, which is insane here. 85 is a massive heat wave. We get temperatures between 50 - 70 all year round. Goldilocks weather, if you want my opinion, why do you think I live here?
Anyway, here's a pic of just how dry the falls was:
Compare that with last July when I went there for the first time.
That was the biggest flow in over 30 years.
